3 Reasons to Digitize Corporate Training with a Learning Management System

Modern employees are busier than ever, and they want training to be quick, engaging and convenient. Here are some statistics, provided by HR Dive, about what your workers want in a corporate training program:¹

  • 89% want access to training anytime and anywhere they need to do their job.
  • 85% want to be able to choose training times that fit their schedules.
  • 80% believe frequent/regular training is more important than formal workplace training.

Digitized corporate training meets these standards, helping your employees see training as what it is - a resource built to make them successful at your company.

But that isn’t the only benefit of digitizing employee training. Here are three additional reasons why your company should digitize training using a learning management system (LMS).

  1. It promotes digital literacy -- Digital literacy is critical for success in the workplace. Despite this, how many times have you heard someone, no matter the professional’s role or industry, confess that he or she is not good with technology?  

Poor digital skills affect workers from every generation, according to CMS wire.² A contributor wrote, “A Capgemini study found 47 percent of senior decision makers do not believe younger workers know how to use digital tools for work purposes.” This can hinder productivity.

By migrating from classroom training to digitized training, they reduced new starter onboarding from 33 days to 18 days, according to Assima.4 Also, the company’s onboarding programs were delivered with 80 percent fewer staff with digitized training as opposed to traditional, in-person training.

  1. It increases engagement and productivity -- When employee training is delivered digitally, through a learning management system, worker productivity improves. In fact, “46 percent (of company leaders) consider that the biggest single productivity improvement for most of their business processes is to remove the paper,” stated AIIM, the Global Community of Information Professionals.5

Employee engagement and productivity go hand in hand, with increased engagement usually resulting in higher productivity. According to eLearning Industry, greater workforce engagement and productivity are the fruits of digitized instructor-led training. 6

When employees have the digital skills they need to do their jobs well, productivity will rise.
