The "Innovention" category recognizes a Southwest Florida technology company that has invented, improved or demonstrated an innovative and creative technology solution.

Interactyx Limited, headquartered in Bonita Springs, is the developer of TOPYX, a comprehensive software that engages learners and provides collaborative learning environments for businesses, associations, academic departments and eCommerce needs of any size organization throughout the world.

"We were looking for the best representation of innovation and invention in Southwest Florida and we found our Innovention Award winner with Interactyx Limited’s LMS software TOPYX," stated Brooke Gabrielsen, president of the Southwest Florida Regional Technology Partnership. "It is incredible that this learning management system, TOPYX, is changing the landscape of social learning around the world, and it’s being developed right here in Southwest Florida. Our organization is thrilled to promote and support the thriving technology community here, and Interactyx is a wonderful example of what is possible."

Alfred R. Novas, Interactyx Limited's CEO, said: "We are very proud to be recognized by the Southwest Florida Regional Technology Partnership as an innovation and invention leader with our widely growing and utilized social LMS (learning management system) software, TOPYX. We are also proud to call Southwest Florida and Lee County home. We enjoy the quality of life Lee County affords and encourage other enterprises to look at Lee County as its corporate home.

"Our entire team strives to provide advanced learning management solutions to meet the quickly evolving demand for users to leverage social learning resources."

This recognition complements other recent awards by TOPYX, including: Best of Elearning! Magazine award winner for the past three consecutive years, Brandon Hall Group’s acknowledgment of multi-gold medal awards winner for Excellence in Technology and named by Chief Learning Officer magazine one of the top LMSs to watch.

The other finalists for the "Innovention" award were dESCO LLC of Fort Myers for its service management suite and VizMarket of Bonita Springs for its intensive mobile, interactive market information system for businesses in Southwest Florida.

The Southwest Florida Regional Technology Partnership honored Lee Memorial Health System in the “Transformation” category for its development and implementation of system-wide electronic health records (EHR). The system is designed to increase quality of care while reducing costs. The other finalist in this category was the Lee County Office of Sustainability for its web-based Sustainability Assessment.

A third award for “Partnership” was presented to partnership charter board member Bruce Prezzavento, owner of Synthetic Intelligence, for his work organizing this year’s FGCU Software Lecture series and for designing a new, lower-cost membership system. Finalists in this category were partnership program chair Stephen Craig and board member and awards event organizer Warren Baucom of the Fort Myers Regional Partnership.

The Awards Ceremony is Southwest Florida's longest-running, high-profile "excellence in technology" event. This year’s keynote speaker was Steve Conley, IT director for the Boston Red Sox, who explained the advanced technology infrastructure at JetBlue Park.

The Southwest Florida Regional Technology Partnership, a member of Lee County’s Horizon Council, is the only organization dedicated solely to promoting the growth of the technology sector in Southwest Florida.

Chartered in 2008 as a nonprofit membership organization, the partnership is comprised of technology companies and technology users, economic development groups and higher education institutions which are united to promote and expand our regional technology sector through seminars, forums and educational programs; and to represent the interests of the regional technology sector before federal, state and local government agencies.
